After a much needed break from social media, I’m back for 2017! I believe we’re all eager to leave 2016 behind and start fresh in this new year. It was a doozy, wasn’t it?
I debated a bit on what my first message of 2017 should include. And I decided it could be distilled down to two basic ideas: Shaking off 2016 and a request for everyone for 2017.
Personally, I’m striving toward getting my life in gear after a distracted mess of a 2016. But first we gotta let go of 2016. This chorus has been in my head pretty much since midnight on January 1. Oh, yes, we’re going to Shake It Off:
I’ll give you a moment to straighten up after dancing along (you know you did. It’s ok, I did too)…..
….And now a somewhat more sober song for 2017. I thought about trotting out John Lennon’s “Imagine” yet again but decided I wanted to go with a different message to start the year. This song captures some of what I really hope we’ll collectively find this year in the face of, well, everything we’re going to have to face this year. It’s a bit out of left field for this blog, but you should be used to that by now. 😉
So, in sum, as we boldly take on 2017, shake it off and treat peeps like you want to be treated. We can do this!
